Economically, Washington needs to attract the best jobs in the world and the best companies in the world by having the best educated, best skilled people in the world. We need to proactively teach the work ethic, and protect and expand the middle class. That means more economic security for Washington’s families, and more people who are working, self-reliant, earning a solid living, and raising a successful family. 

For quality of life, Washingtonians have always balanced work, play, and family. Here, the economy exists for the people, not vice versa. We need to make sure our skills and work ethic make us the world’s most sought-after workers. And we need to balance this with plenty of time for family, and for enjoying the fact that we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

We are a great and powerful state because we have a powerful, diverse, global economy. The foundation of that economy is the quality of our goods and services, due to the productivity, education, and workplace skills of our people.

We are a good state because we don't stop at economic excellence, but also reach out to help all people achieve a balanced lifestyle, with good careers, supportive families, and a rich and enjoyable quality of life.
